Panorama Room
About This Spot
Perched atop the Graduate Hotel on Roosevelt Island, Panorama Room unfolds as a serene rooftop lounge where the pace slows just enough to savor the unfolding skyline. From the moment you step into this intimate space, the mood strikes a careful balance between relaxed sophistication and quiet celebration. It’s the kind of spot that invites lingering – a place to settle in, watch the city’s lights shimmer across the East River, and share easy conversation against a backdrop of soft melodies and the occasional murmur of distant ferry horns.
The views here are undeniably the soul of the experience, stretching across Roosevelt Island toward Manhattan’s ever-humming skyline. The ever-changing light—especially as the sun dips toward evening—paints the room with a warm glow that feels both expansive and comfortably contained. This is not a loud, pulsing nightlife venue, but rather a gently animated haven where you can reconnect with friends or carve out a peaceful moment in the city’s rhythm.
Behind the bar, thoughtfully crafted cocktails weave together familiar classics with subtle twists—a few sweet notes, a touch of spice—crafted to complement the scenic setting rather than overshadow it. While the menu leans into fresh seafood offerings and refined bites, the magic here lies in how these flavors accompany the surroundings, enhancing an already immersive experience without rushing the appetite. Whether you arrive in the late afternoon to catch the sunset or later in the evening for a quiet drink, the Panorama Room invites you to slow down and savor the intimacy of a well-curated moment in New York’s vast skyline story.

It’s great view from Roosevelt island to city. Place has good bar food and great drinks. Gets little crowded on certain nights but overall great place to hangout and take pictures. Recommend to go few hours before sunset

Following a very disappointing meal at the nearby Serendipity 3 Upper East Side restaurant on my wife's actual 60th birthday I was hoping that our visit afterwards to the Panorama Room rooftop top bar in the Graduate Hotel on nearby Roosevelt Island would be a much more enjoyably experience and thankfully it was. It was a short walk from Serendipity 3 up to the Roosevelt Island tram terminal for the short tram journey across to Roosevelt Island and once on the island it was a short walk to the lobby of the Graduate Hotel. Access to the Panorama Room rooftop bar is via a lift behind the lobby that is only accessible once you have shown ID to prove you are over 21 to a security guard and he unlocks the doors to the lift. I didn't have any ID on me, however, after a bit of gentle persuasion that at 64 I must surely look older than 21, the security guard let me go up to the bar. When we got out of the lift the greeter at the podium told us we had 3 options: we could find ourselves a table with waiter service inside the bar, we could sit at the bar and order drinks from the bartenders or we could sit outside on the balcony and buy our drinks at the bar. We chose to sit out on the balcony to enjoy the stunning views across to Manhattan Island on one side and Long Island City on the other side of the Island, and onto the Ed Koch Queensboro bridge next to the hotel. We arrived just before sunset with daylight views, which very quickly changed to night time views, with all the buildings & city lights in the Manhattan night skyline all switched on and lit up. I bought a couple of cans of Juice Bomb IPA beer from the bartender, which my wife and I drank & enjoyed at the counter on the edge of balcony, whilst enjoying the stunning views and watching the fairly busy river traffic past by.

The view is beautiful and the drinks are delicious; it's a great place to hang out. The atmosphere is relaxing and in keeping with the theme. It's a quiet place where you can chat calmly while enjoying a drink. The staff is friendly, and I consider it a private place. I will definitely return.

We come here very often and always enjoy our experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the view is amazing. The manager, Moose, was very attentive and made sure to find the perfect seating for us. Jimmy also made excellent cocktails. Highly recommended

Great rooftop with amazing views located in Graduate by Hilton New York Hotel. The food was okay considering we only ordered fries. Very limited menu for vegetarians though. We ordered two cocktails- BMW and Panoloma- both were good but a bit sweet. The view was breathtaking and ambience is amazing with good music. Really cool bar area. I will definitely come again.

Absolutely fantastic views n this is the number one reason to go here!! Drinks are a little more expensive than on manhattan but not to bad. They drinks are very good and creative. The atmosphere is wonderful. It was clear the bartenders love their job and it showed. An easy walk from the tram. Located on the island and its very quiet. I highly recommend taking a look!!!

This is what I think of when hearing of a cocktail bar in NYC. Masterful cocktails with an amazing view of the City. Vibes are giving " I'm in a movie in the 80's in an upscale bar". Picture perfect. Red interior in the corner. Comfortable lounge seating. Is it pricey? Yes. But worth going to
